Great shades

I bought a pair of augustos years ago. I remember thoughs fitting beautifully, these sunglasses are definately for people with larger heads (59cm around the head)The lenses really cover up a lot of gaps that would allow glare in between the cracks. Primarily for driving, style + casual, (so so when using them as a pilot) the rims cause a small gap between the ear seals, and i personally noticed a loss of noise surpression.lastly, Serengeti have poor service. I cracked my lens dropping it from waist level. They told me there was no such service for repairs.If you want excellent quality lens, and are not going to break these shades. Go for it.

Defective - Lens Cracked in First 5 Minutes!

I hate to write this review, and I hope my experience is way outside the norm, but it was very disappointing.I had a pair of Serengeti's about 20+ years ago, for 6 - 7 years and was quite happy with them. I hadn't had a pair of "good" sunglasses since, and thought it was time to treat myself. I ordered this pair just before leaving on a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.They came quickly, in typical Amazon fashion, and all looked good initially. A sharp looking pair of shades! I put them on, and although a bit heavy due to the glass lenses, they fit well, with the "S" frame design hugging my face nicely. I tried them on around the house for a few minutes, and thought all was well. However, when I took them off, I noticed one of the lenses had cracked/starred in the corner from the stress of the "S" frame tension! In less than 5 minutes! Wow, was that disappointing.I have to say Amazon stood behind them, and refunded my money very quickly. Not sure I want to try another pair though. YMMV.
